So on saturday afternoon, after I had taken a good long nap after the 5k, Celina and I ventured off to the Weber County Fair with our "free" tickets we got when we paid $10 to run. Now, I LOVE the fair, for reasons I do not know. Every year I make a big stink about going and honestly it never quite lives up to the expectations that I have.
I usually park by the soccer fields, you know where it's paved. Celina drove so she parked where she wanted which ended up being in the dirt and hay. So by the time we reached the gates I had about 3 pounds of dirt in my flip-flop.
First thing we did was go see the animals which I have to say, I have never done. We saw lots of cute little sheepies and goats and some cows and horses. Celina stepped in a giant pile of poo (turns out that was hilarious because poo is always funny). We visted her family, her uncle proceeded to get into a one-upping battle with me as to who liked animals more. Apparently he does.
After the animals we went and bought a 20 oz, 5 dollar (!) smoothie. It was real good, especially since it was about 700 degrees outside. So then we had the brilliant thought to go visit the exibit hall because it's air conditioned. Fabulous! Except we were told to leave because we had drinks. So then we went to the other building that has a bunch of vendors in it and it said no drinks too. I took mine in anyway and walked around because it was either break the rules or DIE of heat exhaustion.
After visting the vendors we decided to eat a scone. Pretty soon after the scone we decided that we had had enough and made the trek back to car. Let me tell you something about that walk to the car: longest walk of my life it felt like I was walking through the desert. It was only in the 90's that day but my, did it seem a whole lot warmer than that.
For whatever reason, I love the fair. However, this year I didn't so much love it.
After the fair we went back to Celina's house and ordered pizza and breadsticks and we also had shakes. And I wonder why I'm fat...

I too love the fair, but I always leave disappointed. This year was kinda fun because I got to be out there Wednesday night and Thursday "working", which was a nice change from the office. We drove around a four wheeler and gave drinks to the deputies. Alyssa has some pics on her blog. I got my yummy glazed almonds and now wished I would have eaten an elephant ear scone too!
Listen Poo is always funny!
