Meat is murder. Tasty, tasty murder

Ok so as of yesterday I have decided to become a vegetarian. It's an idea that I have been throwing around for a little while now and I have decided that it is something that I should really try to do because, honestly, I like animals more than people and I wouldn't eat a person.
So the other day I was still going over all that goes into being a vegetarian and whether or not I was prepared to do it and Slayer decided that he wanted to go swimming so we ended up going to the dam. He brought his fishing poles and attempted to catch a fish but had no such luck. So he decided that we were going to go to the trout farm in North Ogden. So we get there and it seems like a quaint little place, but do not be fooled. These were the killing fields. Dalton caught a fish right away and we put it in the bucket and it was splashing around and I felt awful, I apoplogized to the poor guy a million times. Then Slayer caught one and was having trouble getting the hook out, so he just ripped it out and ended up taking the little fella's gill right off his face. So then I had to apologize to that little fishy too. After this tramatic scene we ehad to take them to the butcher and have her measure them and fillet them. She takes them out of the bucket and over to the bloody sink and without warning picks up a big wooden stick and clubs them! I seriously about screamed and died right there. So I said to Slayer, "Vegetarianism starts RIGHT NOW!"
So I shall not eat meat (though I will miss bacon) and I will consume only cage free eggs. I haven't quite made it to soy milk, I'm working on it. It's kind of weird. There are also some garden burgers in the fridge at home and I have yet to try them because I am pretty scared of those as well. But I feel like this will be a good thing for me to do. It could potentially make me healthier and I will feel better about the foods that I eat, because I know that fruits and veggies are not tortured.

man vs. wild

I friggin love the show Man vs. Wild. It has become an obsession of mine. They would always show clips of it on The Soup and I thought it looked SO lame but then I watched it and now I am hooked.
Basically, if you haven't seen it, it's this guy, Bear Grylls, and he gets dropped of in these really awful, desolate places and he shows you what you can eat and do to survive. It's super interesting and Bear is pretty cute.
He does the most awful things sometimes though. In Namibia he took guinea pig poop and made tea out of it. He said it was horrible...Ya, it's poo water! In Siberia he had to swim across a river and the weather was about 30 degrees below zero. So he took off all his clothes and threw them to the other side because if he tried to jump across he might fall in and get them all wet. So he gets naked and swims across this river which had to be one of the worst experiences EVER and he gets to the other side and he has to get his blood flowing to his appendages so what else could he do but NAKED JUMPING JACKS!!! The show is worth watching just for that people, come on. So while he is still in Siberia he meets up with some Siberians and they kill a yak and Bear is teaching you what you can eat off of the beast and he just bites right into the liver. Raw liver, yum. Then he lets you know that the eyeballs are a delicasy to these people so he pops one out of the socket and puts it in his mouth. When he bites down on this thing it just explodes with blood and eye juice. Sick. Seriously sick. I just can't get enough.

Hey what's up

So it's official. I have a blog and there is really no guarantee that it will be at all interesting. You have been warned.
I made a goal in April that I was going to lose 24 pounds by my 24th birthday because lets be honest here, I am kind of a fatty. Which would be fine if I was already married or if I lived somewhere that never got warm but I live in Utah where it does get real hot and I am destined to be a crazy cat lady because I am not yet married. (I have a boyfriend [Slayer] so there IS hope but that is another story entirely).

So anyway, this goal of mine, not really going like I had planned. I started going to the gym 5 times a week during the second week in April and I started to get really serious towards the end of May and I have gone 5 times a week and I usually run about 3 miles everytime I am there but my pants? they are still real tight and ya, my heart doesn't hurt anymore, but who cares about good health when you look like crap in a swimsuit? Am I right? I suppose from time to time I can let you know how the goal is going, but if you don't read about it you will know that it is not going well, so please, don't ask.
