Yes it's me

Hello! I'm pretty sure there isn't really anyone that will read this since it's been years since I've posted and anyone that actually did read it has given up, but here you go anyway.
I got married! Yep, I did. It was awesome. I don't want to brag, and I may be totally bias, but I think I had the most amazing wedding/reception ever in the world. Seriously, Market Street was great: good food, great weather, not to mention it's super pretty. Photographer was perfect. I'm getting my pics back on Tuesday and trust me they are nice, and I am super critical. Everything really went off without a hitch. There was minimal drama and lots of dancing and good times. Oh, and I'm married now so that's pretty cool too. :)
We honeymooned in San Francisco which I wasn't hugely impressed with. It was pretty dirty and kind of scary, and did I mention expensive?!? Dear Cali, go ahead and lower your 10% sales tax and I won't be as irritated when I have to pay the extra 2% Healthy California tax. Thanks. Good thing we went to Chicago last month for the Utah v. Notre Dame game. It made up for it somewhat. Chicago is super clean and I didn't feel like I was going to be mugged every time I walked down the street so that was a plus! But really, it was cool. We went to the game (lost, boo) and then I got to spend a day shopping with one of the other girls that went while all the guys went to a Chicago Bears game. Pretty good trip. Oh, and since we are such the jetsetters lately (ha) we are going to Mexico next week. Please don't be jealous that it will be sunny and 80 there whilst it is freezing and raining here in SLC.
That is pretty much all that is going on these days. We are mostly just figuring out married life (budgeting, etc) and hanging out. I'm real glad that we took the plunge and got married, I couldn't be luckier or happier. It's kind of weird being married in that I don't feel like I'm married, you know what I mean? Like it's weird to call him my husband and be called by a different last name. I was a single Kerr for a long time so I guess this takes some getting used to.

I'm getting married tomorrow!!!

Can you believe it? I can't... So excited, nervous, scared. Mostly excited! Tired too considering I didn't sleep but maybe 4 hours last night. Pretty sure I still can't believe that someone wants to marry me but he hasn't backed out yet so if he leaves me at the alter I'll cut him! He won't, so I really don't need to worry.
I'll try to be a good blogger and blog about it when it's all done, but for now I have to run some errands and get everything organized.
I'll be Mrs. Valentin in about 26 hours, wish me luck!

Shut. Up.

I get married in 19 days! That is less than 3 weeks. Shut. Up. I'm super duper excited to marry Greg and I'm also super excited to have 11 days off in a row. Bliss!!! We are going to San Francisco for our honeymoon and I plan on spending more than one day in bed (sleeping! Don't be sick). Everything for the wedding seems to be in place and taken care of. Theoretically it should go off without a hitch... BTW- our photographer, Brody Dezember, blogged some of our groomals (bridals w/the groom). Go look at them here. They are AMAZING!
You guys, can I just tell you how lucky I am? Let me gush for a minute and tell you that I have the most wonderful fiance and the most wonderful friends. First Greg is too good to me and I can't really figure out how I deserve this kind of treatment but I'm so glad that he puts up with me and doesn't hate me yet :). My friends? They put up with my constant wedding talk and haven't told me to pipe down. I love that even though I don't see them as often as I like that we can always just pick up where we left off. I also have a pretty amazing Dad and Step Mom who put up with my extravagant wedding ideas and have footed the bill without complaining. Photobooth? Of course! Second photographer? Why not! Hershey kisses w/macadamia nuts that had to be shipped from Hawaii? Certainly. Fret not, I have come in under budget (not by much but under is under).
I pretty much suck at this blog business lately so I may be a married woman by the time I update. Sqwee!!!

PS- I turned 26 the other day. Happy birthday to me... I'm so old!

New Goal

So I figure that if I post it here I kind of have to stick to it right? Or I'll look like an idiot. So here it is, thus sayeth me: I will be graduated from college by the time I have been graduated from high school for 10 years (that would be spring 2012). Lofty goal right? Well, turns out, I should have got my butt in gear a long time ago and already been graduated but I guess better late than never right...
Now I just need to figure out what I want to do... shoot.

I think I did it again... and other stuff

Ran the Ogden half this morning. I did okay! Probably not quite as good as last time, I was a tad sick to my stomach the whole time, but pretty close, within a minute or 2 (the results aren't up yet or I'd give a you an actual time). Can I give you some recommendations for this half marathon? First, get a ride to the start because for some ridiculous reason they make you load busses downtown at 445 in the effing morning! Look- we aren't driving that far, only 13 miles up the canyon, so then you stand outside in the cold for nearly 2 hours since the race doesn't start until 7. They had fire barrels which was nice but I think the smoke inhalation may have contributed to my queasy stomach... and also, don't believe anyone that says it's an easy course because it's all downhill. It's slightly downhill occasionally after you climb 3 hills in the first 2 miles.
So it looks like I'm running in the Ragnar Relay in about a month and then I think I'm done for a bit with the paying money to run long distances.
In other news, Greg turned 30 this week, he's so old! Kidding... We also celebrated our one year anniversary this past Sunday. Exciting right? We've had a fabulous year and look forward to many more in the future. Most of which we'll be married for! Yay! We get our engagement pictures done in a couple of weeks which I am pretty excited for, and my dress has arrived so we are actually really close to having everything taken care of. Oh and we've booked a super fun honeymoon to San Francisco for a week. It should be fun, neither one of us have been there for years and we've found lots of fun things to do so far.
Oh and have I told you that Greg and I are in a kickball league? Because we are. It's silly and I feel totally stupid but the people we play with are lots of fun and it's been a pretty good time so far, other that the weather refuses to cooperate. Our first 3 games were cancelled because of rain and the last couple have been so cold! Looks like this week should be a little warmer though thankfully.

you guys...

I totally did it! Finished my first half marathon that is. I finished in 2:11:46 which is pretty close to what my goal was (my goal was 2:10). It was pretty fun and I'm glad I did it. It's crazy how many people run those and how time goes a little faster when there's a few thousand people to watch. I'll admit that at around mile 9 I got a little bored and wanted to quit, mostly because I was running through Liberty Park (I actually do this quite often and I HATE it, it's so boring, it seems SO long) and my armpits were kind of rubbing on my tank top and quite honestly it hurt a lot. Not that you care but I definitely recommend a non-ribbed tank top next time you think about running 13 miles, your pits will thank you. Anyway, I finished, and now I have to gear up for the Ogden half, maybe in that one I'll make 2:10!

Yes, hello

so hi. anyone want to buy a condo? Because Greg just listed this one today. Which means that in addition to a wedding we get to buy a house and sell one. SO FUN. It is kind of exciting but also really scary, good thing Greg knows what he's doing because I got no clue...
My sweet kitty Booger tried to commit suicide last night. Greg was doing something with the back door and she got onto the balcony and sat on the ledge. I talked her down with some treats and promised her that when we had an actual house with a yard that she could go outside on supervised visits (she doesn't have front claws) and play without the Phyllis attacking her.
Oh and spring? you can go ahead and show up anytime now because I am done with the snow. DONE, until at least the end of October. thanks.

Goings on

Things I've done this week:
Bought 5 books from barnes and noble.com. I was just browsing and ended up with the new Chelsea handler book-Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang (hilarious by the way), Stephenie Meyers-The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner (so looking forward to this) and The Host, James Frey- Bright Shiny Morning (look- I liked A Million Little Pieces, I don't care if he lied to Oprah) and Bringing Home the Birkin, I can't remember who that's by but I heard it was good.
I also went and saw The Last Song. By myself. On a Friday night. Sad right? Maybe not as sad as you think. Greg was going with some friends to see Clash of the Titans (lameness to the max) and there was no way I was going to see that but I knew he wouldn't want to see The Last Song so I just went alone. The movie was pretty good, book was better (it usually is though). I don't love Miley Cyrus and she always has this stupid look on her face where her top lip pokes out and she kind of scrunches her nose, drives me nuts, but she was decent in the movie and I may have shed a tear.
I painted the trim around the sliding door too. This place is almost finished, it's so close! But it just never seems to quite get there. I'm thinking two more weekends and it will be finally, finally finished. and then we can move and do it all over again...

I'm back in business baby!

So I decided today that enough is enough, while my pants get tighter and my gut starts poking out of my shirt I hate my crappy gym membership more and more. So today I went ahead and found a gym that has my Les Mills classes and joined. Turns out the Bountiful Gold's Gym has these beloved classes and I got a pretty good deal AND I get free tanning so that's kind of cool. But I am real, real excited to go to the gym tomorrow! I've missed body pump and body attack a lot and sometimes I just can't motivate myself to run on a treadmill. Oh! and if I want I can use the Gold's in Layton or Ogden too! Sweet. Deal.
18 days until my half marathon, I'm planning on doing a long run this weekend, something like 11 miles or so... I'll let you know how that works out... It could get ugly.
Here's a wedding update: I don't know if I mentioned it but I found a dress. It's gorg! I love it. I also got myself a sweet little birdcage veil to go with and I'm excited to be pretty. We have our photographer, Brody Dezember, he's amazing you can see his work here at dezemberphoto.com. Let's see... I found a bridesmaids dress that I love and I've had Celina Boo try it on but haven't had the others try it on... I should get on that pretty soon but I get kind of lazy and don't like to drive to Ogden. It's really not that far but sometimes it seems like quite a journey. Anyway, the dress is purple and tea length and strapless and then I'm thinking green bouquets (don't cringe, it'll be cute, promise).

Quit it

No seriously, quit it. this is what happens when you wake up earlier than your fiance and your dog I guess...

Aren't they adorable?

2-5

It's been a while since I've made a list I realized so here's 25 interesting things about me (probably not so interesting, but things... anyway):
1. Though I am 25, Lucky Charms is still my fave cereal
2. When I eat these Lucky Charms I have to eat them a very specific way, grainy pieces first, then all the marshmallows
3. I love to bake, don't necessarily love to cook
4. I am kind of obsessed with purses...
5. I love bridal mags (even when I'm not getting married)
6. A nice hot bath and a book is great therapy to me
7. So is getting my nails done
8. I LOVE bread, it is probably my favorite thing ever
9. I also love cheese and seriously, the bluer the better
10. I don't think I deserve my fiance, but I'm glad he's willing to settle :)
11. I'm glad that over the years I've gotten over my fear of having to be nice to people or needing people to like me, it's so much easier this way
12. I like living is Salt Lake because there's so many restaurants
13. Because I love to eat :)
14. I miss Ogden though because it contains all my friends...
15. I hate to drive
16. I love to be driven around
17. I'm hideously competitive, I compete with everyone, even when they don't know it
18. I love animals more than pretty much all people
19. My biggest goal is to finish school, and my biggest issue with myself is that I haven't and that I wasted so much time
20. I love airports
21. I also love to travel
22. Unfortunately, football is kind of becoming interesting to me
23. I can't stay awake when I watch a movie at home
24. I feel really lucky to have what I have
25. I am boring...

remember that one time I got engaged...

so this wedding planning business is a tad overwhelming! I had a little cry the other night after meeting with a lady at a reception place but after that we went to another place that was fabulous and went ahead and booked that so my wedding reception will be at the Market Street in Cottonwood on September 24th and I'm super excited about it. Because A) I love the room that we are having it in, it's gorg! B) they have delish food. Delish. oh and C) they take care of most of the stuff so I don't have to worry about finding linens and napkins and silly things like that. So I'm very excited and looking forward to it...
Now something much less exciting. You guys, I have to run a half marathon in 50-something days. Yeah, about that, I have like no energy to do anything. My running has sucked lately, mainly because I hate treadmills these days, they're boring, it's usually getting dark when I get home so that means it's too cold and too dark for me to run outside. What do I do?!? I'm really glad that daylight savings is in a couple of weeks because then I will be a running machine (hopefully) and will get where I need to be in a month but that's definitely easier said than done.
My dear old dad is getting hitched next week. Kind of exciting, kind of weird... I'm glad that he found someone that makes him happy and she's super nice but it's real fast. I guess when you know, you know though... Anyway, I have to wear a fancy dress and some heels so if I see you next week please don't judge the fact that I'll probably be hobbling around after having to wear tall shoes for 6 hours. Oy! I could have worn flats, I actually bought flats but my dress shows my legs and since my legs are less than attractive I chose to go with the heels so that the legs looked better, so turns out it's my own fault... shoot.

Obsessed!

So again, it has been a long time, the internet wasn't working again so I stole my dad's laptop. (I guess technically I bought it because I had to give him some of my tax return, he just actually hadn't given it to me yet). So I figure I should entertain you with a list:
I'm currently obsessed with a few things, they are as follows-
The summer salad with grilled chicken at Target. You guys, this salad is delish! It has like a spinachy mix of salad and strawberries and blueberries, it also has goat cheese and this amazing honey mustardy/poppyseed dressing. So good! They have them over in the deli section of the target and I've had one pretty much every day this week.
Baseball (raglan) tees. You know, the shirts that are usually white and they have different colored sleeves and collar? OMG I love them. I recently purchased 4 of them (shut up, they were all on clearance at Hollister). I just think that they're so stinkin' cute and I think that they fit me in a cute way... They are like casual but I can still look like I tried... I guess...
The Valentine's Day soundtrack. It's really good! It's a lot of older love songs redone to be more up to date. Really very enjoyable...
Oh yeah, I'm also obsessed with this PRETTY RING ON MY LEFT HAND!!! Ha! That's right, it happened! I got engaged just yesterday afternoon. Amazing right? My dear sweet boyfriend (who I don't deserve) bought me a Build A Bear and put the ring in the stuffed heart that the bear was holding and when you press the bears hand it says "I love you, Happy Valentine's Day, and will you marry me?" To which I said, "are you serious" because I didn't know that the ring was in the heart. It was exciting and strange, something I didn't know would ever happen. But I'm very excited and can't wait to settle down with Greg for the long haul... Excuse me while I gush for a minute (Celina, avert your eyes) but he is pretty much amazing and more than I could have ever hoped for. He's sweet and nice and considerate and he's fun and silly and he makes me smile. I love being around him and I'm pretty sure he loves being around me... I'm really lucky guys and I couldn't ask for anything more. Yay for weddings and getting engaged!

Blah...

Hey y'all. I have a been a sucktastic blogger lately, probably because life is pretty blah. I had a great Christmas and New Year's and now that all the fun is over I am ready for spring and sunshine! I think that I suffer from the seasonal affective disorder, you know, the one where you get gloomy because you never see the sun? that's me!
So anyway, let's talk resolutions.
I've decided that this year I have two main resolutions. 1. To lose weight, I lost most of it last year and I only have a bit left but it's been rather hard lately so I need to get that in check. 2. To get out of debt. It's not terrible and I'm not drowning in bills but I would feel a lot better and less stressed if I didn't have those kinds of things to worry about. Oh and I guess I could add a third one on there and that would be to pass math 1050. That would give me my associates degree (yay!).
Oh! Greg and I got a Wii! So exciting! We were at the Costco the other night and we were only there for dogfood (for the Phyllis) and I said (jokingly) 'we should get a wii' oh and we did. It's pretty fun, we mostly got it so that we can download olde nintendo games onto it. Good times.
Speaking of Phyllis, she is good. She's getting big and she really likes to chew on your feet when you are walking but she's super cute so I forgive her. She sleeps with us and makes little snores and likes to lay across you whilst you sleep, it's cute but she did it the other night and when I woke up I thought I was going to die because I'd had a seven pound weight on my back all night. Not the best sleep I've ever had... Boogie is pretty cool with her, she chases her around and when Boogie is done with her she climbs up to her new favorite perch on top of the fridge where Phyllis can't get heror even see her.
Did I mention that my Dad is getting married? Oh yeah, he is. March 5th.
