New Goal

So I figure that if I post it here I kind of have to stick to it right? Or I'll look like an idiot. So here it is, thus sayeth me: I will be graduated from college by the time I have been graduated from high school for 10 years (that would be spring 2012). Lofty goal right? Well, turns out, I should have got my butt in gear a long time ago and already been graduated but I guess better late than never right...
Now I just need to figure out what I want to do... shoot.

I think I did it again... and other stuff

Ran the Ogden half this morning. I did okay! Probably not quite as good as last time, I was a tad sick to my stomach the whole time, but pretty close, within a minute or 2 (the results aren't up yet or I'd give a you an actual time). Can I give you some recommendations for this half marathon? First, get a ride to the start because for some ridiculous reason they make you load busses downtown at 445 in the effing morning! Look- we aren't driving that far, only 13 miles up the canyon, so then you stand outside in the cold for nearly 2 hours since the race doesn't start until 7. They had fire barrels which was nice but I think the smoke inhalation may have contributed to my queasy stomach... and also, don't believe anyone that says it's an easy course because it's all downhill. It's slightly downhill occasionally after you climb 3 hills in the first 2 miles.
So it looks like I'm running in the Ragnar Relay in about a month and then I think I'm done for a bit with the paying money to run long distances.
In other news, Greg turned 30 this week, he's so old! Kidding... We also celebrated our one year anniversary this past Sunday. Exciting right? We've had a fabulous year and look forward to many more in the future. Most of which we'll be married for! Yay! We get our engagement pictures done in a couple of weeks which I am pretty excited for, and my dress has arrived so we are actually really close to having everything taken care of. Oh and we've booked a super fun honeymoon to San Francisco for a week. It should be fun, neither one of us have been there for years and we've found lots of fun things to do so far.
Oh and have I told you that Greg and I are in a kickball league? Because we are. It's silly and I feel totally stupid but the people we play with are lots of fun and it's been a pretty good time so far, other that the weather refuses to cooperate. Our first 3 games were cancelled because of rain and the last couple have been so cold! Looks like this week should be a little warmer though thankfully.

you guys...

I totally did it! Finished my first half marathon that is. I finished in 2:11:46 which is pretty close to what my goal was (my goal was 2:10). It was pretty fun and I'm glad I did it. It's crazy how many people run those and how time goes a little faster when there's a few thousand people to watch. I'll admit that at around mile 9 I got a little bored and wanted to quit, mostly because I was running through Liberty Park (I actually do this quite often and I HATE it, it's so boring, it seems SO long) and my armpits were kind of rubbing on my tank top and quite honestly it hurt a lot. Not that you care but I definitely recommend a non-ribbed tank top next time you think about running 13 miles, your pits will thank you. Anyway, I finished, and now I have to gear up for the Ogden half, maybe in that one I'll make 2:10!

Yes, hello

so hi. anyone want to buy a condo? Because Greg just listed this one today. Which means that in addition to a wedding we get to buy a house and sell one. SO FUN. It is kind of exciting but also really scary, good thing Greg knows what he's doing because I got no clue...
My sweet kitty Booger tried to commit suicide last night. Greg was doing something with the back door and she got onto the balcony and sat on the ledge. I talked her down with some treats and promised her that when we had an actual house with a yard that she could go outside on supervised visits (she doesn't have front claws) and play without the Phyllis attacking her.
Oh and spring? you can go ahead and show up anytime now because I am done with the snow. DONE, until at least the end of October. thanks.

Goings on

Things I've done this week:
Bought 5 books from barnes and noble.com. I was just browsing and ended up with the new Chelsea handler book-Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang (hilarious by the way), Stephenie Meyers-The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner (so looking forward to this) and The Host, James Frey- Bright Shiny Morning (look- I liked A Million Little Pieces, I don't care if he lied to Oprah) and Bringing Home the Birkin, I can't remember who that's by but I heard it was good.
I also went and saw The Last Song. By myself. On a Friday night. Sad right? Maybe not as sad as you think. Greg was going with some friends to see Clash of the Titans (lameness to the max) and there was no way I was going to see that but I knew he wouldn't want to see The Last Song so I just went alone. The movie was pretty good, book was better (it usually is though). I don't love Miley Cyrus and she always has this stupid look on her face where her top lip pokes out and she kind of scrunches her nose, drives me nuts, but she was decent in the movie and I may have shed a tear.
I painted the trim around the sliding door too. This place is almost finished, it's so close! But it just never seems to quite get there. I'm thinking two more weekends and it will be finally, finally finished. and then we can move and do it all over again...
